This is obviously unrelated to SFB or FC, but perhaps of interest nevertheless.

I've been reading and thoroughly enjoying David Weber's Honor Harrington series of novels (I'd avoided them for a long time because of their tragically cheesy cover art...oops).

I've picked up Saganami Island Tactical Simulator, which is done by Ad Astra games, the company run by Ken Burnside, formerly of ADB. It looks simultaneously elegant and complex (it models vector movement in three dimensions, after all), and I'm itching to play it (when I ever find some free time, that is...).

Is anybody else familiar with game, interested in this game or knows somebody who is?

By the way, the first nine or so books in the "Honoverse" are available online here http://baencd.thefift...

I highly recommend you give them a try (I deleted them from my Sony Reader in an effort to avoid reading them all at once- I'm hooked)

This is a much-delayed comment. Sorry about that.

The Honorverse books are great. Especially the first 4-5. After that it gets increasingly political and less "ships go boom".

I haven't played SITS, but I've heard good things about it. I've also heard it is like SFB in being a "lifestyle choice" due to the complexity. Supposedly the rules are simpler, but the increased movement options means more decisions and a slower game.

I've read the series twice; on the third go now. (Over the past five years of course, not all in a row.) I just found out about SITS last week and can't wait to get a copy and give it a go. Have you found any opponents since this post?
